Guests staying in vacation home information
The trash pickup in the Village takes place twice a week. Usual collection times are Mondays & Fridays about 8 AM. The plastic bags should be placed by the curb before 8 AM but NOT on the night before because we have had critters (in the forms of cats & raccoons) come & tear up the bags.
The town of Port Royal has a superb recycling program. The Village enjoys curbside pickup. The recycling truck comes on Wednesdays and all recycling items should be deposited in the heavy plastic recycling bin and placed by the curb by 8 AM on Wednesday mornings. If you need a recycling bin they can be purchased at the Port Royal town hall for $10.
Guests in Village homes are very welcome at our social events. You can find the social calendar by clicking here. There will be a container at the social event to collect donations-- the donations pay for the paper products & set-ups. Since we all have different beverage preferences, our socials are a BYOB (bring your own bottle) arrangement. In addition, people bring an appetizer which for most of us substitues for dinner because we enjoy these evening visits and we usually stay for a couple of hours (or sometimes even longer).
We love our pets. -- Quite a number of Village residents have dogs. We love them all. We also love the beauty of the Village & we understand that this fragile environment needs care. All dog owners can help by picking up after their animals. If your dog comes for a vacation, please pick up the "dog leavings". This will help us keep the grounds beautiful. Thank you!
